VOLUNTEER WITH CCSM
CCSM was built from scratch by members and volunteers. From our coordinating committee to getting the important work done in our programming, volunteers add essential capacity to our organization.

Why do we use Better Impact?
CCSM uses Better Impact, a volunteer engagement platform, to streamline communication with interested volunteers. Currently, communication around opportunities and trainings are sent out through Better Impact roughly every 2 weeks. Better Impact allows CCSM to vet our volunteers before connecting them with members for volunteer requests.
Through the application process on Better Impact, applicants must:
- Upload a volunteer or work resume
- Provide 2 personal references
- E-Sign our Volunteer Agreement
- E-Sign our Confidentiality Agreement
- Attend a mandatory Volunteer Orientation either online or in person. At the moment, we hold volunteer orientations on a monthly basis. Note: You do not to be fully vetted to attend a Volunteer Orientation.
Starting 2026 - We will be asking volunteers to sign up for opportunities through Better Impact. Please review these short videos on getting started on Better Impact and how to log volunteer hours.
To protect our members' information, we use a secure texting app called Signal. We ask that you download this app so that we can communicate safely with you! There is a tutorial video to download Signal here.
