  Member Assembly 2024 Election Results

Kreyòl ayisyen anba a

CCSM is a force that is evolving and growing and our 2024 Member Assembly was a beautiful reminder of that! The ballots from our elections have been processed and the votes have been counted. With record-breaking participation from over 200 of our members, we really felt the love and the power of our collective voice.

  • 53.3% (206) of the 386 eligible voters cast their ballots.
  • 75.7% of the voters (156) identified themselves as directly affected and voted in all four languages (Spanish, Haitian Creole, English and Bengali).
  • 12.9% of voters (50) identified themselves as not directly affected and voted in two languages (English and Spanish).

This year we voted on several things. Not only did we vote on candidates for our Board of Directors, but we also voted on proposed amendments to our bylaws and our annual priorities for our legislative campaigns and our programs and services.

We also shared our victory video from last year, which you can watch below.

Here are the voting results from our 2024 Membership Assembly, which featured international and intergenerational participation. A total of 206 members submitted their votes. The majority of ballots were submitted anonymously using a third-party voting system, which tallied the total votes.

*Note: We continue to use our weighted voting system for those directly affected by the immigration system. Due to the weighted voting system, totals are higher than 141.

Amendment #1 // Active Membership: CCSM’s bylaws currently require 51% of members to participate in an election for the election to be valid. This is a way to ensure that only when the majority of membership participates is a vote  during our member assembly accepted. Some members have moved away from the area and are not interested in being involved in the organization anymore. However, if they signed a membership pledge they count toward the overall number of current members and the 51% participation requirement. We are proposing that members have to re-sign a membership pledge and recommit to our principles and practices every two years in order to be considered active members and be eligible to vote in CCSM'S elections.202/340010

Shanatia “Tia” Bygrave

Treasurer

Shanatia “Tia” Bygrave is the Branch Manager of Greylock Federal Credit Union Greenport/Hudson branch. She has nearly 20 years in banking industry and is a certified financial coach with the National Credit Union Association (CUNA), a recent graduate of the AACUC Diversity Equity and Inclusion Leadership academy for financial professionals and a recipient of the 40 under 40 award in 2022. Tia is a Rotarian and also has the role as Treasurer of the Hudson Rotary Club. She is a long standing member of the board and also treasurer of FOHY (Friends of Hudson Youth). Shanatia also sits on the board of Columbia County Chambers and CREATE Council of the Arts.

Shanatia is passionate about financial wellness for all and works with many local organizations to provide seminars for their employees on topics like budgeting, credit, building savings, homeownership and many more. Tia believes that having financial freedom and stability is an important key to a better life. If our low to moderate income families don’t know how to have this, it will continue the cycle of feeling bound to living paycheck to paycheck. She also feels educating our youth at a young age is very important to help break that cycle and will not stop until our youth learn all they need to learn to reach this goal. As Branch Manager, Tia has played an instrumental role in supporting CCSM’s Financial Empowerment programming by co-organizing workshops for members on Opening a Bank Account, Applying for an ITIN, and Owning Your First Home. In addition, her branch recently received the "Juntos Avanzamos" Together We Advance' designation, which is awarded to credit unions committed to serving and empowering Hispanic consumers.

Jody Bolluyt

Director At-Large

Jody Bolluyt (she/ella) has served as Treasurer of CCSM for the past 4 years and is remaining on the Board in a Director At-Large position. Currently, Jody serves on CCSM'S Coordinating and Financial Committees. She is one of the farmer owners of Roxbury Farm CSA, one of the largest CSAs in the country based in Kinderhook, NY. She also serves on the board of Equity Trust.

We look forward to working with our members of the Board and incredible leaders

on our Coordinating Committee and amongst our membership.

Rezilta Eleksyon 2024 Asanble Manm yo

Non sèlman nou te vote sou kandida pou Konsèy Administrasyon nou an, men nou te vote tou sou pwopozisyon amannman nan règleman entèn nou yo ak priyorite anyèl nou yo pou kanpay lejislatif nou yo ak pwogram ak sèvis nou yo.

Nou pataje tou videyo viktwa nou an nan ane pase a, ke ou ka gade anba a.

Men rezilta vòt yo nan Asanble Manm 2024 nou an, ki te genyen patisipasyon entènasyonal ak ant jenerasyon. Yon total de 206 manm soumèt vòt yo. Majorite bilten vòt yo te soumèt anonim lè l sèvi avèk yon sistèm vòt twazyèm pati, ki te konte vòt total yo.

*Remak: Nou kontinye itilize sistèm vòt pondere nou an pou moun ki afekte dirèkteman nan sistèm imigrasyon an. Akòz sistèm vòt pondéré, total yo pi wo pase 141.

Amannman #1 // Manm aktif: Règleman entèn CCSM yo egzije kounye a 51% manm yo patisipe nan yon eleksyon pou eleksyon an valab. Sa a se yon fason asire ke sèlman lè majorite manm yo patisipe se yon vòt  pandan asanble manm nou an aksepte. Gen kèk manm ki kite zòn nan epi yo pa enterese patisipe nan òganizasyon an ankò. Sepandan, si yo te siyen yon angajman manm yo konte nan kantite manm aktyèl yo ak egzijans patisipasyon 51%. Nou pwopoze pou manm yo dwe re-siyen yon angajman manm epi rekomande ak prensip ak pratik nou yo chak dezan pou yo konsidere yo kòm manm aktif epi yo ka elijib pou vote nan eleksyon CCSM yo.202/340010

Men pi gwo priyorite lejislatif ou te vote pou yo:

2) Lisans chofè yo

3) Atelye ITIN + Kredi

Felisitasyon manm Konsèy Administrasyon yo ki pran nouvo wòl!
